Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity, frequency, and duration of clients’ mood disorders, utilizing standardized assessment tools and intake protocols.

• Collaborate with clients to formulate and execute personalized treatment plans that align with their specific goals, preferences, and therapeutic needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adjusting techniques based on client feedback and progress.

• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, helping them understand treatment options, coping strategies, and the importance of medication management if prescribed.

• Continuously monitor clients’ progress, documenting changes and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to enhance effectiveness.

• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration by working closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and comprehensive treatment.

• Stay current on the latest research and treatment modalities in mood disorders to continuously refine therapeutic approaches and techniques.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and assessments, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in professional development and case consultations, actively seeking opportunities to enhance clinical skills and address any challenges with ethical and effective solutions.

• Actively serve as an advocate for mental health awareness, working to eliminate stigma associated with mood disorders through outreach and education.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is the treatment of clients experiencing a range of mood disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. You will work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing personalized care that acknowledges and respects each client’s unique context and experiences. This role necessitates a strong understanding of culturally sensitive therapeutic practices to effectively engage and support our varied patient population.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker – R Privilege (LCSW-R), or comparable licensure in New York State.
\n
• Possession of a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working specifically with mood disorders is preferred, demonstrating proficiency in effective therapeutic modalities.

• Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic practices, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

• Demonstrated success in achieving positive therapeutic outcomes with mood disorder patients, supported by case examples and client feedback.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, utilizing extensive knowledge of psychopharmacology to guide treatment decisions in concert with psychiatrists.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing for the establishment of rapport and trust with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits\n
