Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Full-charge Bookkeeper Location: East Hartford, CT Pay: $35–$45/hour, based on experience Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for multiple entities while also providing administrative and business support to the owner. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can take ownership of the books while also helping with office operations, projects, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an accounting, bookkeeping, or CPA firm, particularly in a role supporting multiple clients. Experience with small‑business administration, office management, or business operations is also highly valued. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple entities Handle AP and AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity Prepare financial statements, P&L reports, and other financial reports Perform bookkeeping for both clients and internal business operations Work in QuickBooks Desktop for accounting, reporting, and recordkeeping Assist with individual and business tax preparation Maintain accurate and organized financial records Support the owner with business management, special projects, filing, and administrative needs Help manage day-to-day office operations and business support functions Identify opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and workflows Assist with implementation of new accounting/office software and systems Develop and maintain efficient accounting and administrative procedures Provide general support across the business as needed Qualifications 6+ years of bookkeeping experience required Strong experience with full-charge bookkeeping, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, financial statements, and P&L reporting Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop Experience with multi-entity accounting Experience with individual and business taxes Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree considered with the right level of experience Experience working in an accounting, bookkeeping, or CPA firm strongly preferred Administrative, office management, or broader business support experience is highly preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities Strong problem-solving and process‑improvement skills Professional communication skills and a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities in a small‑business environment #J-18808-Ljbffr J.
