Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including initial assessments and detailed documentation throughout the treatment process.

• Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of clients, whether they are individuals, couples, families, or groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that utilize both traditional and innovative therapeutic techniques.

• Monitor and document clients' progress, regularly adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Coordinate care by managing referrals and following up on clients' hospital admissions to streamline treatment processes.

• Guide clients and their families in recognizing and addressing behaviors that may hinder recovery and provide resources for ongoing support.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.

• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, characterized by empathy, compassion, and an understanding attitude towards clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to efficiently document treatment processes.

• A background in treating clients with co-occurring disorders and knowledge of pharmacological interventions prescribed by medical professionals.

• Awareness of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Understanding of community health resources and how to link clients to these services for comprehensive care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus.
