Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through initial consultations and follow-up sessions, ensuring accurate documentation of each client's journey.

• Create and implement customized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based methodologies to address individual needs and goals.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for sharing and personal development.

• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting interventions as necessary to meet evolving needs.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to provide holistic care.

• Manage referrals effectively, ensuring clients receive necessary additional services and support.

• Educate family members on mental health challenges and coping strategies, reinforcing a team approach to care and recovery.

• Recognize and proactively address any behaviors that may hinder recovery, contributing to a supportive therapeutic environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base consists of individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will work with a diverse demographic in San Antonio, Texas, reflecting the city’s rich cultural background. This role requires sensitivity to different cultural norms and personal circumstances to effectively guide clients towards recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
\n
• Demonstrated success in passing the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• At least two years of direct experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing your commitment to the field.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, with familiarity in AVATAR preferred.
\n
• Understanding of co-occurring disorders, including how physical health conditions may influence mental well-being.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and the ability to build rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in telehealth practices and virtual counseling modalities.
\n
• Background in working with addiction recovery, mood disorders, and crisis intervention.

• Knowledge of medication management and the effects of psychotropic medications as prescribed.

Function First Therapy Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus.
