Work Environment

The work environment at Biotech Advance Medical Center is dynamic and patient-centered. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will work onsite, primarily conducting home visits and engaging with patients in their own settings. The work schedule typically ranges from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with additional evening clinics until 8:00 p.m. on occasion. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in weekend community outreach events and health fairs, reflecting our commitment to service and engagement with the Baltimore community.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and screenings for individuals and families, ensuring thorough evaluations of health status.
• Diagnose and manage various acute and chronic health conditions, providing preventive care and tailoring health promotion strategies to individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with local community organizations and healthcare stakeholders to develop impactful health education programs, thereby increasing awareness and health literacy.
• Deliver culturally sensitive care, respecting diverse backgrounds, while advocating for patients’ rights, especially for underserved populations.
• Coordinate referrals and ensure follow-up care, maintaining continuity in care management and patient engagement.
• Document detailed and accurate medical records according to regulatory and best practice standards, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Take an active role in community outreach initiatives, facilitating health screenings and awareness campaigns that address public health issues.
• Stay abreast of current trends, evidence-based practices, and relevant healthcare policies that influence community health dynamics.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on diverse individuals and families in the Baltimore community, targeting vulnerable populations who face barriers to accessing quality healthcare. You'll engage with patients ranging from children to elderly individuals, adapting your care approach to meet their distinct health needs and enhancing their overall health outcomes.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• An active nursing license in the state of Maryland.
• A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, ideally in community health or public health settings, demonstrating a strong foundation in delivering primary care.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse population.
• A commitment to social justice and health equity, demonstrated through advocacy for vulnerable communities.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience will be given preference:

• Experience working in telehealth or remote patient management.

Compensation and Benefits
