Primary responsibilities include teaching and maintaining an undergraduate and graduate studio in applied oboe, teaching studio and reed-making classes, coaching woodwind ensembles, performing chamber music in faculty ensembles, recruitment, and serving as a visible resource to Las Vegas’s music and music education communities. Candidates with ancillary expertise in musicology, music theory, or other disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants with ABD status nearing degree conferral will be considered, but an earned D.M.A. or D.M. in oboe performance is required at the time of the appointment. Candidates should have a record of successful teaching and recruiting of oboe students at the collegiate level and of performance at regional and national levels.
