- Manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of affordable housing entities, ensuring compliance with lender, investor, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and maintain legal and organizational documentation, including partnership, management, and operating agreements, while keeping entity records current.
- Coordinate with third-party property management partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and evaluate service performance.
- Oversee entity compliance with federal, state, and local filing requirements, including maintaining corporate records and tax-related documentation.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports, support audits, and submit required reporting to funding agencies, lenders, investors, and regulatory organizations.
- Monitor operating and replacement reserves to ensure funds are maintained and utilized in accordance with governing agreements.
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly financial variance analysis, identifying trends, operational issues, and opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Coordinate with facilities and operations teams to monitor property-related compliance matters, insurance requirements, and regulatory issues.
- Support the development and enhancement of accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting processes related to property operations.
- Participate in special projects, financial analyses, and additional assignments as requested by finance leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation is a plus.
- 3-5 years of property accounting experience, preferably within affordable housing or the nonprofit sector.
- Working knowledge of affordable housing programs, LIHTC properties, real estate accounting, and nonprofit GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience is strongly preferred .
- Self-motivated professional with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
