Senior Property Accountant

Land Fund XVIII is a private real estate ownership and management company seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee the financial reporting and accounting functions for a designated real estate portfolio. This full-time, on-site position in New York, NY is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting while working closely with property management to support operational effectiveness and informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a deadline-driven environment, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties Manage property‑level budgets and forecasts in partnership with property management Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standards Track and meet all reporting deadlines Prepare and review monthly accruals, straight‑line rent calculations, and journal entries Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances Review delinquency reports and coordinate with property management on material issues Interpret lease terms and collaborate with lease administration Monitor cash balances, process essential payments, and prepare funding requests Assist with annual budget preparation and upload approved budgets into accounting systems Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Analyze financial and operational data and respond to ownership and management inquiries Prepare personal property tax filings and monitor sales and use tax compliance Support audits and assist with special projects as assigned Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required 2–3 years of accounting experience; multifamily real estate experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting processes Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and journal entries Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
