Practical Solutions Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a fully remote capacity. Work Environment\n

In this remote role, you will work from your home while collaborating with a dynamic team of professionals through virtual meetings and coordinated care efforts. Our community health clinic serves as the main facility for client engagement, and therapists will optionally conduct in-person sessions at our outpatient center when necessary. We aim to foster an atmosphere of collaboration and support that can be extended to families through innovative and flexible therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-home individual therapy sessions and group therapy sessions in our outpatient center to ensure comprehensive therapeutic support.

• Design and deliver targeted interventions that address anger management, coping skills, and social skills, specifically aiming to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and physical aggression.

• Assist youth and caregivers in developing effective decision-making skills to manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to create a supportive network around each child and family.
\n
• Accurately document all therapeutic interactions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated timelines to ensure continuity of care.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to provide feedback and recommendations that will enhance service delivery and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on children aged 3 to 20 who are facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Many of our clients present with exceptional needs that require specialized therapeutic interventions. By understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by these families, our therapists play a crucial role in enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is mandatory.

• Possession of a current, active, and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this role.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM); flexibility for weekends is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support is essential to promote desired outcomes in client sessions.

• Experience working with children ages 3-20, especially those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle are required for in-home therapy and potential travel to client locations.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory for all applicants.

Compensation and Benefits\n
