The Per Diem Staff Nurse in Breast Surgery at Mount Sinai West is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care. Highlights Pay: $85.9387/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai West Department/Unit: Breast Surgery - WST Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharge consistent with the patient's status and facilitate inter-departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Experience: Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials.
