Director of Sales & Marketing- Upscale Hotel hosting MAJOR event!

A polished and sophisticated Director of Sales is needed by a reputable management company with a growing portfolio. The property in question is the international headquarters hotel for one of the HIGHEST PROFILE events in the world of professional sports. This individual must be a skilled spokesperson, as they will be instrumental in promoting the event on an international stage. An upscale, full-service hotel background is required, as the DOSM will play a prominent role in VVVIP arrangements and events. Advanced organizational skills are an absolute must, as there is a 6–8-month planning window for the countless moving parts of this event. Additional responsibilities entail managing a team of two and skillfully selling and marketing the hotel during the remainder of the year, outside of the event. Interestingly, the host location is a smaller Southern city, vs. a major metropolitan hub. Hence, compensation is reflective of the market, but is highly negotiable. 7-10+ years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience, with upscale, full-service hotels. Current Director of Sales, Director of Sales & Marketing, Area Director of Sales, or Assistant Director of Sales experience. Demonstrated success managing complex citywide conventions, major sporting events, political events, or other high-profile group business. Experience serving as the primary sales leader for a flagship or convention hotel. Proven success achieving aggressive revenue, ADR, RevPAR, and market share goals.
