You’ll serve as a key health resource, caring for a diverse range of students—including those with diabetes, g-tubes, and seizure needs—while collaborating with educational teams and supporting a safe, healthy learning atmosphere.

Essential Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Prior experience as a school nurse is mandatory (LPNs or candidates without school nursing experience cannot be considered).
• Experience managing diabetes, g-tubes, and seizure care.
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with students, staff, and families.
• Professional, organized, and adaptable to the school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily school-based healthcare for elementary students, addressing acute needs and chronic health management.
• Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with medical conditions such as diabetes and seizure disorders.
• Administer medications, treatments, and perform procedures such as g-tube feedings.
• Act as a resource for teachers and staff regarding student health concerns and emergency protocols.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records.
• Participate in student care planning and contribute to a positive, healthy school environment.

This contract assignment is structured for immediate start through May 28, 2027, with regular school-day hours from 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM.
