Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, carefully documenting case histories from initial consultations to treatment completion.

• Assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional states, tailoring intervention strategies accordingly.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for diverse populations, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic modalities.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to enhance outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with other health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive care strategies.

• Provide follow-up support for clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring communication with attending physicians about ongoing needs.

• Identify behaviors that may hinder progression and work proactively to address such obstacles.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will work with a diverse range of clients, each presenting unique challenges in areas such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. You will play an essential role in promoting patient empowerment and recovery by actively supporting clients in their journey toward improved mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid relevant licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in the state of Texas.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with a strong clinical background.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, ideally AVATAR, for effective patient management.
\n
• A solid understanding of co-occurring disorders, physical health issues, and evidence-based practices in intervention.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong ability to engage and support clients.
\n
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills characterized by compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to assist others.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with a diverse range of mental health issues and populations is highly valued.

• A familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) will give candidates an edge.

• Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including the effects of medications prescribed by medical professionals, is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n
