Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatments to prevent disability, alleviate pain, enhance muscle function, and maximize patient performance in alignment with individualized care plans.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring effective implementation of care protocols and fostering their professional development.
• Assess clients' functional abilities using diagnostic tests to create and modify tailored rehabilitation plans.
• Evaluate living environments to provide actionable recommendations that enhance patient independence and overall quality of life.
• Administer a range of treatments including manual therapy exercises, traction, and modalities involving physical agents to meet patients' therapeutic needs.
• Regularly document clinical progress, maintain accurate records, and engage actively in interdisciplinary team discussions to refine treatment strategies.
• Educate patients and families on the use of therapy devices and overall rehabilitation programs to empower them in the recovery process.
• Conduct on-site functional assessments, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed and adapted according to patient progress.
• Participate in case conferences to coordinate a holistic approach to treatment and improve outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their mobility. This role requires keen insight into orthopedic rehabilitation, as you will be instrumental in helping clients regain independence and restore their functional abilities. Recognizing each patient's unique circumstances, you will develop personalized care pathways that promote optimal recovery and enhance their overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• A valid Florida license as a Physical Therapist is mandatory.
• Maintaining a clean professional record without any disciplinary actions against your professional license.
• A strong foundation in manual therapy techniques and a comprehensive approach to physical rehabilitation.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic setting, ideally with experience treating patients with similar profiles.
• Competence in various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based rehabilitation practices.
• Experience mentoring or guiding Physical Therapy Assistants is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
