Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments, documenting each client's mental, behavioral, and emotional health status from the first consultation through to their treatment conclusion.

• Design and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and various group settings based on assessment outcomes.
\n
• Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities to accommodate different client needs.
\n
• Regularly evaluate client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring effective pathways to recovery.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to develop integrated care plans that address complex client needs.

• Follow up with external health providers for any clients who require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.

• Assist families and caregivers in managing the challenges associated with their loved ones’ mental health, promoting community support and education.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a varied patient population, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and other mental health issues. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and we strive to provide culturally sensitive and person-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances. You will play a pivotal role in helping clients navigate their mental health journeys and achieve lasting wellness.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker – R (LCSW-R) in New York State.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience providing mental health counseling in a clinical or community setting, equipped to handle a variety of psychological conditions.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR, to document client interactions efficiently.
\n
• Understanding of physical and emotional health conditions, including substance abuse disorders, affecting clients' mental health.
\n
• Awareness of best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and the ability to apply these in therapeutic settings.

• Competence in the effects of prescription medications on mental health, collaborating effectively with medical professionals treating clients.
