Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health from the initial consultation through the course of treatment.

• Formulate comprehensive intervention and recovery plans tailored for diverse populations, including individuals, couples, families, and group therapy settings.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to guide discussions and therapeutic techniques.

• Continuously monitor and document clients' progress against established treatment plans, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize effectiveness.

• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals—such as psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers—to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes for clients.

• Manage referrals as necessary and follow up with clients who have been admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Engage with family members and primary caregivers, providing support and guidance as they navigate mental and behavioral health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our diverse clientele ranges from individuals grappling with anxiety and depression to families navigating complex relational dynamics. Many clients present with co-occurring disorders, including substance abuse issues and trauma. As a member of our mental health team, you will address a variety of psychological needs, focusing on holistic approaches to support recovery and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution is a requirement.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of New York.

• A passing score on the NCE and/or the NCMHCE.
\n
• Proven experience in a mental health counselor role with a track record of effective client engagement and therapeutic outcomes.

• Experience working with clients dealing with both physical and emotional health challenges, including addiction disorders.

• Understanding of the implications of medications prescribed by medical professionals on mental health treatment.
