Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and assessments, effectively documenting client backgrounds from initial consultations through treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews to inform treatment approaches.
\n
• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans, adapting strategies for individuals, couples, families, or group therapy sessions.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness practices.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting care strategies as needed based on assessments and client feedback.
\n
• Collaborate with fellow mental health specialists, medical professionals, and community resources to ensure integrated care for clients with complex needs.
\n
• Maintain consistent communication with clients' psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding their ongoing treatment and hospitalization needs.
\n
• Proactively identify and intervene in behaviors that may hinder recovery, enhancing client engagement and outcomes through positive reinforcement and coping strategies.

• Provide support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to cope with mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be treating a varied client demographic, addressing an array of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma-related disorders. Our clients value an empathetic approach, and as such, counselors are expected to foster a safe space where clients can express themselves openly and work towards recovery goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a track record of effective therapy outcomes.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or similar platforms, to streamline documentation and reporting.

• Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Ability to demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities that foster trust and rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with co-occurring physical health conditions and substance use disorders, enabling you to address the complexities of dual diagnoses.

• In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and its impact on client treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits\n
