Work Environment\n

The position is primarily remote, allowing you to perform your duties from the comfort of your own home while also engaging with our outpatient office for collaboration and team meetings as necessary. Our work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility to adjust as needed to meet patient requirements. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive cultural assessments to accurately capture each patient's unique background and mental health concerns, utilizing standardized tools and individualized interviews.

• Design and implement tailored, evidence-based treatment plans that take cultural factors into consideration, ensuring that therapeutic interventions resonate with patients.

• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing mental health challenges, fostering resilience, and enhancing patients’ coping strategies.

• Engage with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to deliver coordinated care, participating actively in team meetings and case conferences.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention support, utilizing de-escalation techniques and safety planning to manage mental health emergencies effectively.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, and community resources that can aid in their recovery journey.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation, complying with all legal requirements and best practice standards in mental health care.

• Participate in ongoing cultural competency training sessions to enhance your skills and understanding of diverse patient needs.

• Stay abreast of current best practices in mental health treatment and contribute to an environment of learning and growth.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse patient base that includes individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ clients, as well as youth and adults facing challenges stemming from acculturation and other identity-based concerns. Your role will emphasize creating a safe space for discussions about mental health in relation to culture, providing holistic care that respects and integrates each patient’s worldview.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid and current license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and the importance of cultural competency in therapy.

• Proven experience in providing both individual and group therapy in a culturally responsive manner.
\n
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills with the ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
\n
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport with diverse populations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain patient documentation efficiently.
\n
• A commitment to ethical practices, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality.

• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
