With over 29 programs across 20 different locations in Lee's Summit, Raytown, and Kansas City, ReDiscover offers a wide variety of career opportunities for individuals like you looking to make a difference throughout the area!The Mental Health Counselor cooperatively works with all program staff and management to develop and integrate services for the agency. All services are performed in accordance with the standards of clinical practice established by the State of Missouri and the policies and procedures of ReDiscover.At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:Maintain and interact with a caseload of clients with diverse characteristics either in-person or over the phone.Conduct high quality clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in a timely manner.Identify and provide clinical interventions and referrals for clients based on their needs.Empower clients to develop and nurture the knowledge, skills, and support systems crucial to promoting optimal functioning in the community.Continually assess clients for lack of progress, progress, or emergent needs and address those needs clinically.Engage difficult-to-serve clients by investigating all potential resources in order to gain access and make connections.Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover's designated electronic medical record.Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.QualificationsWe are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Licensed Therapist. However, here are some things that you will need prior to starting with ReDiscover:Availability to work a full-time schedule, (40-hours a week), Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm.Master's or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).Active Provisional Counselor license (PLPC) through the state of Missouri or a Master Social Worker license (LMSW) with registered supervision with the Missouri Division of Professional Registration for licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in a minimum requirement.Active clinical license in the State of Missouri which includes: Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred.Two (2) years of experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting.Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
