Accounts Payable Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing and well-established organization to find an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a high-volume environment, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in ensuring vendors are paid correctly and on time. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in office.
Key Responsibilities
Process a high volume of vendor invoices with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Review purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices to ensure proper matching and approval before payment.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing variances, and vendor inquiries.
Prepare and process weekly payment batches through checks, ACH, and other electronic payment methods.
Maintain vendor records, including onboarding documentation and compliance-related files.
Work cross-functionally with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to resolve outstanding issues.
Monitor payment deadlines and identify opportunities to take advantage of available vendor discounts.
Support month-end close activities by reconciling accounts payable balances and assisting with audit requests.
Generate reports and perform account analysis as needed.
Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications
3+ years of recent accounts payable experience in a manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial, or similarly fast-paced environment.
Experience processing large volumes of invoices and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong understanding of invoice matching, vendor management, and payment processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting functions.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while contributing to a team environment.
