Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Directing individualized physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing or restoring muscle function in accordance with defined care plans.
• Evaluating each client's functional abilities through comprehensive assessments and diagnostic tests, which include muscle, joint, and nerve evaluations.
• Collaborating with Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of care plans, providing appropriate supervision and guidance.
• Administering various therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercises, and modalities such as traction and massage, tailored to each patient's needs.
• Assessing patients' home environments to recommend modifications that support independence and functional mobility.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure continuity of care.
• Participating actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and patient progress.
• Educating clients and their families on the management of their physical therapy and the use of assistive devices.
• Contributing to the development, review, and revision of care plans to optimize patient outcomes.
• Monitoring and recording patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary in collaboration with the supervising physician.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role at the center, you will work with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from surgery, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. The focus will be on delivering care that not only meets the physical needs of our clients but also recognizes their emotional and psychological well-being, promoting a holistic recovery process.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Florida, demonstrating compliance with local regulations.
• Current CPR certification and valid driver's license with insurance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed clinical decisions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective patient and family engagement.

Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates who have a minimum of two years' experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly in rehabilitation or home health care environments. Experience with reviewing patient care plans and collaborating in an interdisciplinary team is highly valued.
