Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive historical information and assess client needs.
\n
• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to establish treatment goals.
\n
• Design tailored intervention and recovery plans for a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Conduct engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities suitable for the client's diagnosis.
\n
• Track and document clients’ progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary based on their response to therapy.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team comprised of psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive client care.
\n
• Ensure follow-up communication with hospital colleagues regarding any clients admitted for acute care, facilitating a seamless transition back to outpatient services.
\n
• Proactively identify behaviors that may hinder recovery and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers in navigating the mental and behavioral health challenges of loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on empowering clients facing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral disorders, and other psychosocial challenges. You will be instrumental in creating a safe space where clients feel accepted and encouraged to set and achieve their mental health goals. The diversity of our clientele requires an adaptable approach that is sensitive to the different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences of the individuals we serve.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.

• Successfully passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, showcasing your ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor, allowing you to connect with clients effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical or therapeutic setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, ideally AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and patient tracking.

• Experience in managing clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• A deep understanding of the implications of pharmacological treatments presented by clients.
