Position Overview

Lakefalls Family Medicine & Pediatric Clinic is actively seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specialized in cardiology to join our team in Queens Village, New York. As a full-time practitioner, you will play an integral role in our outpatient practice, contributing your expertise to the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC). This position will allow you to collaborate closely with a team of health professionals, including physicians, fellow nurse practitioners, and registered nurses, to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position located within a school facility in Queens Village, NY, creating a unique environment where healthcare intersects with education. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, without night shifts or weekend work, ensuring a balanced lifestyle for our staff. You will work in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, focused on outpatient care, delivering specialized cardiology services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of cardiologists to manage and treat patients with various cardiac conditions, ensuring an integrated approach to patient care.
• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients dealing with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and other cardiovascular risk factors.
• Provide comprehensive outpatient electrophysiology services to patients with abnormal ECGs and arrhythmias, including managing implantable devices.
• Lead the management of patients experiencing acute cardiac conditions, such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and transient ischemic attacks.
• Perform stress testing as required to assess cardiovascular health and design appropriate treatment plans.
• Work under the guidance of on-site cardiologists, ensuring that patient management aligns with best practices and clinical guidelines.
• Document patient history and physical examinations accurately while prescribing medications in line with treatment protocols.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists within our group as needed based on patient assessments.
• Educate patients and their families about cardiac health, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications, enhancing their understanding and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population with varying degrees of cardiovascular health issues, ranging from young adults to seniors. Your role is vital in empowering our patients with knowledge and resources to manage their conditions effectively.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred, with national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• A current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New York.

Preferred Experience

Although we welcome applications from both seasoned Nurse Practitioners and new graduates, experience in cardiology, whether inpatient or outpatient, will be highly regarded. Familiarity with electrophysiology, stress testing, and chronic condition management is also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
