Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments through thorough preliminary interviews and documentation, tracking clients' journeys from intake to discharge.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health using standardized assessment tools, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of client needs.

• Develop individualized intervention and treatment plans that address specific issues for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic methodologies aligned with client needs and treatment goals.

• Continuously monitor client progress through regular evaluations and adjust treatment plans as necessary to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to deliver coordinated care.

• Engage in follow-up communications with psychiatrists regarding medication management for clients requiring psychiatric support.
\n
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that hinder recovery, providing clients with tools to overcome challenges.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, ensuring a comprehensive approach to wellness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse population of clients who may face various mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction issues. Our clients range from adolescents to adults, each requiring unique treatment approaches that respect their individuality and personal experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Demonstrable understanding of mental health assessment and treatment planning.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective interaction with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature essential for building therapeutic relationships.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor preferred, with direct client care and therapeutic intervention responsibilities.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to enhance documentation and client management.

• Knowledge of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Experience managing clients with co-occurring physical health and behavioral health conditions.

• A strong understanding of the effects of prescribed medications and their role in treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
