Job Details Job Location: Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $57,000.00 - $65,000.00 Travel Percentage: None Shift: Any Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service Description Responsible for overseeing the entire day-to-day operations of the kitchen, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the kitchen area meets health and safety requirements. Reports To: General Manager Job Responsibilities Prepare daily production and prep list. Assign, coordinate and supervise the set‑up and food production areas within the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize waste. Ensure all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period. Ensure kitchen staff follows cooking procedures, recipes and portions according to Menu Builds. Keep kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organized. Conduct inventory to minimize orders and keep food costs inline. Ensure proper inventory procedures are followed (FIFO). Place food and supply orders as directed. Receive product, verify invoice and freshness of merchandise; ensure credits are applied where needed. Hire and train employees to company standards. Actively participate as a member of the management team. Manage kitchen staff scheduling, keeping labor costs in line. Manage staffing levels throughout shift. Hold kitchen staff accountable for job performance. Smile and maintain a positive, respectful attitude at all times. Perform food preparation duties. Follow all Chickies & Petes service standards. Facilitate communication in kitchen to ensure food service is coordinated and timely. Act as Expeditor; check food for quality and presentation, following Menu Builds, before serving. Ensure food is handled in a sanitary manner. Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk‑in coolers, and storage areas. Ensure line is kept clean at all times. Assess and maintain all storage and food prep equipment. Complete beginning, change, and end of shift side duties. Plan and execute food menu for parties, may include non‑menu offerings. Keep food costs in line with budget. Additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Guest Service: Must consistently assess, anticipate and meet guests’ needs promptly. Communication: Must communicate professionally with guests, vendors, coworkers and management; understand instructions and communicate need for training. Interpersonal Relationships: Must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Teamwork: Must work effectively as part of a team and establish good working relationships. Sales Techniques and Guest Influence: Must understand all Chickies & Petes products and services and be able to influence guests effectively. Performing General Physical Activities: Must perform moderate strength activities including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials; stand for long periods. Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Must recognize problems and resolve them appropriately using good judgment, tact and initiative. Analytical Skills: General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point‑of‑sale application knowledge. Quality Control and Priority Assessment: Must evaluate current practices and processes and initiate ways to improve business methods, quality of products and services. Time Management Skills: Must use methods and organizational techniques to delegate tasks and manage staff workloads efficiently. Language Skills: Must be able to speak, understand and write English effectively. Flexibility: Willing to assist with workload of others and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
