Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations remotely to assist law enforcement in evaluating individuals' needs for involuntary detention under state guidelines (5150/5585).
\n
• Provide immediate crisis counseling and support to non-violent patients experiencing mental health episodes, focusing on de-escalation and safety.
\n
• Collaborate with officers during mental health crises, facilitating seamless communication between emergency responders and healthcare professionals.
\n
• Educate and train police staff on best practices for interacting with arrestees facing mental health challenges, emphasizing de-escalation strategies to minimize the use of force.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and follow-up requirements using an electronic health record system.
\n
• Engage effectively with law enforcement, hospitals, and community service units (CSUs) to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role involves working with individuals in crisis, particularly arrestees and other community members who may be experiencing acute mental health episodes. You will play an integral role in guiding clients toward appropriate care, ensuring that their needs are understood and addressed promptly. Your expertise will contribute directly to community safety and the well-being of vulnerable populations.

Qualifications\n

• Current and valid LPCC license in the state of California.

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
\n
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong ethics, demonstrating the highest level of integrity.

• Proven interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a range of stakeholders.

• Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous clinical experience in a psychiatric setting is highly preferred.

• Exposure to crisis intervention and mental health evaluation methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits\n
