Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring - IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration skills Description: This position requires a registered nurse specialized in caring for adult and geriatric patients. The focus will be on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The staffing ratio goal is 1:4, but can be adjusted to 1:5 based on patient needs. Weekends are variable, depending on unit requirements. Scheduling is self-directed, allowing nurses to submit scheduling preferences. Orientation includes a structured first week followed by unit-specific training with a preceptor. There is a significant emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies. Experience in oncology is preferred but not mandatory. Equipment used includes monitors, telemetry systems, bladder scanners, and infusion pumps. Candidates must comply with credentialing requirements within specified timeframes.
