Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to determine their unique challenges and needs.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that take into account each patient’s developmental stage, familial dynamics, and cultural context.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to effectively address anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to help parents and caregivers foster a nurturing and supportive environment for their children.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that comprehensive care plans are effectively executed.

• Provide crisis intervention support as needed, ensuring immediate assistance during mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health topics, strategies for coping, and available community resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements, ensuring that all documentation reflects the best practices in our field.

• Participate actively in team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing educational initiatives to enhance professional skills and treatment approaches.

• Keep abreast of the latest research and emerging trends in child and adolescent psychiatry to inform clinical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents who are facing mental health issues that affect their daily functioning and overall well-being. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or other relevant credentials in New York State.

• Demonstrated understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and effective therapeutic strategies.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a child-centered approach to building trust and rapport with young clients and their families.
