Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team specializing in child and adolescent mental health. Work Environment\n

As a fully remote position, this role allows for flexibility while maintaining a structured work schedule of Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While most services will be provided via telehealth, occasional evening shifts may be required to accommodate the diverse schedules of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the specific emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs of children and adolescents.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that take into account each patient’s developmental stage, family dynamics, and personal history.
\n
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family therapy, to address conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at empowering parents and caregivers to foster supportive environments at home.
\n
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
\n
• Respond effectively to crisis situations, providing immediate support and interventions during mental health emergencies affecting children and adolescents.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources that facilitate recovery and resilience.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards, ensuring accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes.

• Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development activities, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Stay current with the latest research and best practices in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Vera's will work primarily with children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health challenges. Your expertise will be pivotal in helping these young individuals understand their emotions, develop coping mechanisms, and progress towards healthier mental states.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly in child and adolescent settings, is preferred.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and effective, evidence-based treatment approaches.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in providing both individual and family therapy.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an approach that is both compassionate and child-centered.

• Ability to build trust and rapport with young clients and their families, creating a lasting impact in their lives.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other essential technology.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in telehealth practices or familiarity with treatment for specific issues such as trauma or developmental disorders will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Vera's offers a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the salary, we provide a sign-on bonus as part of our commitment to attracting top talent.
