Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, ensuring accurate documentation from initial consultation through treatment completion.

• Evaluate and understand each client’s unique situation to develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for discussion.

• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adapting intervention strategies as necessary to enhance efficacy and address changing needs.

• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to provide coordinated, holistic care.

• Follow up with external healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for clients admitted to hospitals or other facilities.

• Intervene to identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, ensuring proactive support for clients navigating their mental health journey.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers to assist them in managing the demands associated with mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Centura, you will work with a diverse client population ranging from children to adults, addressing a wide spectrum of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and more. Your role will be crucial in not just treating mental health conditions but also in supporting clients’ overall well-being and resilience, contributing to improved community health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems, with preference given to experience with AVATAR or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, with demonstrated proficiency in individual and group therapy.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and practices.

• In-depth understanding of underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate treatment plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion in support of clients’ mental health journeys.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
