Work Environment

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist in our outpatient facility, you will work in a collaborative, supportive atmosphere with access to advanced equipment and evidence-based practice resources. Our clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM, and provides a dynamic setting where therapists work closely with individual patients in a personalized manner. The facility is conveniently located in Tampa, a vibrant city known for its warm climate and diverse community, making it an ideal place for both work and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans that meet their specific rehabilitation goals.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions, managing a patient caseload of approximately one individual per hour.
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques and modalities to effectively improve patients' mobility and functional capabilities.
• Design and implement customized exercise programs to address the distinct needs of each patient.
• Document patient progress meticulously and continuously evaluate treatment outcomes, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment and continuity of care for patients.
• Maintain clear communication with patients and their families to educate them about their conditions and next steps in the rehabilitation journey.
• Encourage lifestyle changes that promote overall health, fitness, and wellness, emphasizing strength, balance, and coordination.
• Work diligently to reduce patients' dependence on medications and surgical interventions through effective physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary population you will serve includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Our clientele often includes active adults who are keen on restoring their functions to return to their previous lifestyles or activities. Thus, understanding patient-specific motivations and goals is key to effective rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required; Master's (MPT) or Doctorate (DPT) in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Current and valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Florida.
• No history of board or disciplinary actions on your physical therapy license.
• Proficient in manual therapy techniques and developing effective therapeutic exercise plans.
• Knowledgeable in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically WebPT or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in orthopedic outpatient therapy settings is preferred to ensure familiarity with patient care processes.
• Experience implementing evidence-based interventions and patient education strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
