Admissions Director Responsibilities
As the Admissions Director, you will play a key role in managing the facility's admissions process while helping maintain census growth and providing outstanding service to residents, families, and referral partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and manage all admissions, discharges, and inquiries
- Oversee the complete admissions process, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and completed on time
- Evaluate referrals and assist with admission decisions
- Maintain accurate census reporting and resident tracking
- Collaborate with nursing, the business office, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate admissions and bed availability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, and referral sources
- Monitor referral activity, admissions trends, and discharge planning
- Prepare and provide weekly census and admissions reports
- Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, families, and referral partners
- Support census development through proactive outreach and relationship building
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Admissions experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Positive, energetic, and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Basic computer proficiency
- Knowledge of healthcare admissions processes is a plus
