Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and preliminary interviews, carefully documenting each client’s history from their initial consultation through treatment completion.

• Assess the mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions of clients to formulate tailored intervention and recovery plans.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to facilitate discussions and foster healing.

• Regularly monitor clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and registered nurses, ensuring comprehensive care for clients.

• Perform timely follow-ups with medical professionals for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and the safety of at-risk patients.

• Provide support and education to family members and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to help manage mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse clientele facing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders. You will engage with individuals, couples, and groups, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs and circumstances. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of New York.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating your ability to manage and support a diverse client base.

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Strong knowledge of mental health treatments, including familiarity with addiction disorders and their behavioral implications.
\n
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, allowing effective interactions with clients, families, and colleagues.
\n
• Empathetic, patient, and skilled in establishing rapport with clients while maintaining professionalism and integrity.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with additional certifications or trainings in specialized therapeutic modalities or mental health interventions.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices to assure adherence to current industry standards.

• A background that includes interactions with clients suffering from co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions.

• Familiarity with the impact of pharmacological interventions prescribed by medical professionals on mental health treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus!
