Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting findings throughout the treatment process.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing established therapeutic modalities to foster emotional healing.

• Continuously monitor client progress within treatment plans while adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.

• Collaborate with other mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers by coordinating care plans and intervention strategies to optimize client outcomes.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who may require hospitalization or additional medical oversight.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges effectively.

• Provide support and education to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to assist clients in managing mental and behavioral challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will serve a diverse client base, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and addiction disorders. Your role will cater to individuals from different cultural backgrounds and socio-economic statuses, emphasizing the importance of providing inclusive and compassionate care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A pass score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with a strong foundation in clinical practices.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients presenting with complex physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction issues.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• A solid understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical specialists.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills necessary for effective collaboration and documentation.
