This position operates in a remote telehealth setting, enabling counselors to connect with patients from the comfort of their homes while maintaining a structured work environment. Our regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential opportunities for occasional evening shifts to meet patient needs. This flexible work arrangement supports a balanced work-life experience while allowing counselors to focus on high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the needs and challenges of older adults, considering various factors such as cognitive health and social support.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address the specific psychiatric conditions of elderly patients, employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

• Provide both individual and family therapy sessions, focusing on enhancing communication and coping strategies within families dealing with geriatric mental health issues.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care approaches.

• Offer crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate support and stabilization for elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, explore treatment options, and inform them of community resources available for additional support.

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.

• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance care delivery.

• Stay current with research and advancements in the field of geriatric psychiatry to ensure best practices in treatment protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically focuses on providing care to older adults, many of whom may have complex mental health conditions due to aging-related factors. Counselors will engage with patients experiencing dementia, chronic anxiety, depression, and other prevalent issues in the geriatric demographic. Our approach not only aims to manage symptoms but also emphasizes improving the overall quality of life for elderly individuals and their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
