Work Environment

This position requires physical presence in clients' homes throughout Arlington, Virginia. You will interact directly with patients in their familiar living environments, allowing you to make observations of their functional capabilities and challenges firsthand. Home care entails not just treating conditions, but also evaluating home environments to offer holistic rehabilitation solutions tailored to each client's lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that aim to restore, improve, or maintain clients' physical functions while preventing disabilities.
• Oversee and guide Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in the execution of therapy plans, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and safety protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' functional levels, using diagnostic tests focused on muscle, nerve, and joint performance.
• Evaluate the client's home environment for rehabilitation effectiveness and provide recommendations aimed at enhancing their independence.
• Administer prescribed physical therapy services, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modality treatments like traction and massage.
• Assess, fit, and make adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices while collaborating with physicians on necessary modifications.
• Engage in collaborative care planning by participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights on client progress, and strategizing treatment updates.
• Prepare thorough clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with OASIS and other regulatory standards.
• Offer education and training to clients and their families on physical therapy programs, equipment use, and self-management techniques to encourage ongoing recovery.
• Be readily accessible to PTAs during treatment sessions to provide guidance and oversight in line with state regulations including minimal supervision required.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on a diverse range of patients, including adults recovering from surgery, individuals with chronic illnesses, and those needing rehabilitation post-injury. Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred, but a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy with relevant experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist, particularly in home health or acute care settings.
• Current active licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia and CPR certification.
• Strong analytical skills and a creative mindset for developing innovative treatment strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required for home visits.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with home health regulations and experience with OASIS documentation.
• Previous work in a patient-centered home care environment.
• Experience in supervising or mentoring PTAs or support staff.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and allowances for continued education.
