Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial client assessments to gather comprehensive mental, behavioral, and emotional health histories, documenting every detail from the initial consultation through the treatment process.

• Design and implement tailored intervention plans that address individual needs, as well as those of couples, families, and groups, aiming for effective recovery and personal growth.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices to encourage open discussions and coping strategies among participants.
\n
• Monitor clients’ progress throughout the treatment duration, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans based on their evolving needs and feedback.

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team—including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses—to create cohesive, integrated treatment strategies for clients.

• Follow up with healthcare providers regarding client admissions and ongoing psychiatric care, ensuring continuity of treatment.

• Identify and address potential barriers to recovery, using proactive strategies to prevent setbacks in clients’ mental health journeys.

• Provide support and education to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with the tools to manage mental and behavioral health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Successful completion of the NCE, NCMHCE, or similar examinations is required.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on empathetic and clear client interactions.

• Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated clinical experience as a licensed mental health counselor, ideally within a community health setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for documenting client interactions and treatment plans.

• Understanding of addiction disorders and co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.

• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of medication effects prescribed by medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n
