The Private Wellness Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth initial consultations and document thorough client assessments, ensuring accurate case management from evaluation to treatment conclusion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being utilizing evidence-based assessment tools and methodologies.

• Create and implement tailored intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups, aligning with each client's unique needs.

• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic techniques to promote healing and growth.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to develop cohesive, informed intervention plans.

• Follow up with healthcare providers for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and support.

• Identify obstacles to recovery and address them proactively to enhance client engagement and healing.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong foundation in mental health counseling principles supported by previous experience in a relevant setting.

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly in managing client documentation and treatment planning.

Preferred Experience\n

• Background in treating co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
