This role offers a fully remote work setting, providing flexibility for counselors to conduct sessions from the comfort of their homes. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and maintain detailed documentation from the initial client consultation through the completion of treatment.
\n
• Assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to develop personalized treatment and recovery plans tailored to their specific needs.
\n
• Create and facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques appropriate for diverse populations.
\n
• Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress against established treatment goals, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to provide integrated care for clients.
\n
• Manage referrals and follow up with external medical providers for clients requiring additional support or hospitalization.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges collaboratively with clients and their support systems.

• Support and guide family members and primary caregivers to better manage the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our counseling services cater to a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. As a counselor, you will be responsible for addressing the unique needs of each client, providing culturally competent care that respects their backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful completion of the NCE and/or NCMHCE examinations with a passing score.
\n
• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role or related environment.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with familiarity in tools like AVATAR.
\n
• A foundational understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction issues.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by exceptional interpersonal abilities and empathy.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of experience as a mental health counselor, focusing on telehealth services is a plus.

• Experience working with diverse populations, particularly in urban settings like Jamaica, New York.

• A deep understanding of pharmacological treatments and their implications for mental health clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
