Accounts Payable Specialist Long Island City,NY, US 6876776 2 days ago Job Description Experience: Mid Level Salary: $50,000 - $75,000 per year Job Details --------- The Accounting Specialist will primarily support the accounts payable function while assisting with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities. This role is best suited for someone who is organized, comfortable working with a high volume of details, and willing to help wherever needed within the accounting department. Responsibilities Process accounts payable invoices accurately and on time Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation Obtain required approvals and ensure invoices are coded correctly Review invoices and transactions for accuracy Enter and maintain financial data within the accounting system Set up and maintain vendor and supplier records Communicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment questions Research and resolve invoice discrepancies Monitor outstanding accounts payable items Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation Monitor shared accounting inboxes and route requests appropriately Assist with basic month-end close and account reconciliation activities Support internal controls and audit documentation Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed Qualifications 1–3 years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience Experience processing invoices and working with vendors Familiarity with purchase orders, invoice coding, and approval workflows Strong data-entry skills with a high level of accuracy Comfortable working in Excel and accounting systems Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills Experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a plus Experience in construction, engineering, logistics, infrastructure, or project-based accounting is a plus Experience with project coding, job costing, or WIP-related environments is a plus Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related area is preferred but not required This is a full-time, on-site position in Long Island City, New York.
