Key Responsibilities\n

• Assist in evaluating and addressing student support referrals using Maxient, a comprehensive case management system. Ensure that all records are updated accurately and promptly.

• Maintain confidential patient records that comply with federal and state laws, demonstrating our commitment to patient privacy and ethical standards.

• Conduct professional development workshops and trainings for students, faculty, and staff on various mental health topics, fostering a mental health-informed campus environment.

• Provide expert consultation to students, addressing concerns regarding mental health issues while sharing best practices for managing psychological challenges.

• Plan, implement, and participate in outreach initiatives that promote mental health awareness and prevention strategies aimed at supporting student wellness and academic resilience.

• Assess and evaluate mental health and substance abuse concerns through individual and group counseling sessions, tailored to meet diverse needs.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention and assessment to students experiencing distress, ensuring they receive support in critical moments.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role serves a diverse clientele, primarily consisting of students at various educational levels. Our focus is on providing mental health support that promotes overall wellness, academic success, and the retention of students within the education system. Counselors will encounter a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and situational crises, necessitating a tailored approach in treatment and intervention.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a valid California license as an LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, or LMFT. Unfortunately, candidates with only an associate's license cannot be considered due to billing restrictions.

• A Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field is required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with using digital tools for record keeping and communication.

• A strong ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong time management and organizational skills.

• Effective teamwork skills, plus the ability to self-direct and work independently to achieve patient and organizational goals.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with geriatric populations is preferred but not mandatory.

• A background in crisis counseling is advantageous, especially in remote settings.

• Familiarity with telehealth practices and online therapy platforms.
