Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of clinical nursing experience License: Active Ohio RN license Certifications: BCLS and IV certification Must-Have: EPIC experience preferred, strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in a PCU setting working night shifts. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekdays and some weekends. Key responsibilities include starting and managing IVs, administering medications safely, and monitoring vital signs and patient responses. The nurse will educate patients on treatments and self-care while collaborating with the care team on patient plans. Experience with EPIC EMR for charting is preferred. The candidate will be required to float to lower acuity units if needed. Following hospital policies and maintaining patient safety is essential. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and be capable of critical thinking and multitasking. Travel experience is a plus. The patient population is primarily adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of approximately 23 patients. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Patient diagnoses encompass a wide range of general medicine issues. Special procedures may include IV management, chest tubes, and various bedside procedures.
