Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide immediate crisis intervention for non-violent patients enduring mental health episodes, utilizing methods to prevent escalation and promote calmness.

• Collaborate with law enforcement personnel during mental health crisis responses to ensure appropriate care is delivered safely and effectively.

• Educate and train police staff on best practices for crisis intervention and the management of mental health emergencies, emphasizing strategies that de-escalate high-tension interactions.

• Manage ongoing casework by liaising with external agencies, including the Department of Mental Health and local psychiatric facilities, necessitating regular follow-ups with clients.

• Document patient interactions meticulously, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations related to mental health services.

• Engage in interdisciplinary communication with law enforcement, crisis service units (CSU), hospitals, and psychiatrists to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.

• Assist police officers in conducting psychiatric evaluations in real-time to assess the need for involuntary detention under 5150/5585 due to potential dangers to self or others.

This role primarily focuses on assisting individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, including community members and individuals recently arrested who may struggle with disorders such as anxiety, depression, or psychosis. Your efforts contribute not only to immediate stabilization but also to the long-term mental health outcomes of these clients, guiding them toward recovery and stability.

Qualifications\n

• A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.

• Must hold a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential in California.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is essential.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $122,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
