Key Responsibilities

• Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' pain history, lifestyle, and related health issues to formulate accurate diagnoses.
• Treatment Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Medication Management: Prescribe and manage pain medications, monitor their effects, and make adjustments as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with essential information about their pain management strategies, medication use, and lifestyle modifications to enhance their recovery trajectory.
• Monitoring and Follow-up: Regularly assess patient progress through follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans accordingly, ensuring ongoing evaluation of pain management effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients suffering from a variety of chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and injuries from sports or accidents. Your role will be crucial in identifying the psychosocial aspects of pain and advocating for a multi-faceted treatment approach that aims to restore function and improve quality of life. Your interactions will focus on building rapport and trust with patients, ensuring that they feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their healing processes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Current licensure to practice in New York State.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant is preferred if applicable.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a pain management or related setting.

• Experience with interventional pain procedures is an advantage but not mandatory.
