Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, culturally sensitive assessments for new patients and their families to establish individualized treatment goals.

• Provide therapeutic interventions through individual and family therapy sessions, adapting approaches based on the unique needs of each client.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including billing, treatment plans, and insurance authorization forms, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

• Develop and implement crisis intervention plans, wellness strategies, relapse prevention plans, and safety plans as necessary to support clients’ mental health stability.
\n
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals during case consultations and agency meetings to coordinate care effectively.
\n
• Create comprehensive discharge plans to facilitate smooth transitions for clients as they progress in their treatment.
\n
• Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and necessary licensure maintenance to ensure clinical competence and compliance with state laws.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals and families experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our diverse client base reflects the community of Brookhaven, New York, and we prioritize culturally appropriate care tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in an outpatient mental health setting is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and billing processes.
