Work Environment

This role is based onsite at our rehabilitation center, designed to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere conducive to recovery. You will work in a team that includes two other physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant (PTA), ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured yet dynamic working environment that balances patient care with professional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical conditions and understand their treatment goals during the initial consultation.
• Manage a patient load of approximately one individual per hour, ensuring focused and personalized therapy sessions.
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques, including manual therapy and therapeutic exercises, to develop individualized care plans.
• Motivate patients throughout treatment, regularly assessing their progress and adapting care strategies based on their responses.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of treatment services provided to each patient, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurse practitioners, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Promote a healthy lifestyle by educating patients on strength training, flexibility, balance, and coordination techniques.
• Minimize reliance on medications by exploring effective, non-surgical treatment alternatives that prioritize patient well-being.
• Continually evaluate treatment outcomes, engage in open communication with patients, and fine-tune wellness programs as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice primarily serves a diverse range of patients, including individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, sports-related issues, and surgeries. As a Physical Therapist at Grandcare, you will work closely with patients of all ages, helping them regain independence and improve their daily functioning. Your skills will be critical in understanding the unique challenges each patient faces and guiding them toward effective solutions.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid license as a Physical Therapist in Suffolk, VA, without any disciplinary actions on record.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy and the development of effective exercise routines tailored to patient needs.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically WebPT, to streamline documentation and patient tracking.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping patients enhance their quality of life through rehabilitation.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to design and implement sports-specific rehabilitation programs.
• Knowledge of contemporary therapy trends and techniques, enhancing patient engagement and outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to USD 110,000 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plan options, and paid time off.
