Work Environment\n

This role offers a fully remote work environment, allowing therapists to connect with clients via teletherapy or, when suitable, in-person at our outpatient clinic. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or through virtual appointments, promoting a comfortable and safe atmosphere for clients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapies to address various behavioral issues, helping clients improve emotional regulation, coping mechanisms, and social skills development.
\n
• Implement strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions or aggression, ensuring safety and emotional support for clients.
\n
• Work closely with caregivers, providing guidance on decision-making and behavioral management strategies to foster healthier home environments.
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including the Child Family Treatment Team, to create holistic treatment plans and maximize client progress.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with clinic standards and legal requirements.
\n
• Participate in regular training and team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for service improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Therapists at Wellcure primarily serve children and adolescents aged 3-20, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). You will be instrumental in providing support to these young individuals as well as their families, addressing their unique needs, and facilitating an environment where they can thrive.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is necessary to practice in New York.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend availability being a plus.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support strategies is essential.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with I/DD, is highly desirable.
\n
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred to better serve our diverse clientele.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required for in-home therapy sessions.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required before beginning employment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
