Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Avis Counseling Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting initial assessments and interviews to evaluate the clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
\n
• Developing comprehensive and tailored treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups aimed at achieving meaningful recovery outcomes.
\n
• Facilitating therapeutic sessions, including evidence-based group therapy and individualized sessions, to address a variety of mental health challenges.
\n
• Monitoring client progress throughout their treatment journey and adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective care.
\n
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, social workers, and nursing staff, to create multidisciplinary intervention strategies.
\n
• Providing referrals to other specialists and services as required to meet client needs effectively.
\n
• Following up with clients and their families to support the recovery process, addressing any emerging challenges promptly.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential clinical documentation in adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients presenting various mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related challenges, and substance use disorders. Your expertise will guide individuals from different backgrounds through their mental health struggles, ensuring that your approach is culturally sensitive and personalized. Our clients include children, adolescents, adults, and families seeking supportive interventions to improve their mental well-being.

Qualifications\n

The following qualifications are required to be considered for this position:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling or therapy environments, showcasing your ability to support clients through various stages of therapy.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for documentation and client management.

Preferred Experience\n

While the minimum requirements will qualify candidates, the following experiences and skills are preferred:

• Familiarity with best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and the latest developments in psychotherapy.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a genuine passion for helping others.
