Work Environment

Your work as a PTA will take place onsite at our well-equipped hospital facility. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes licensed Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and caregivers, ensuring comprehensive care delivery. The clinic operates from Monday to Friday, between 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a stable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, adjusting as necessary to meet patient needs.
• Provide essential therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility interventions to help patients regain strength and independence.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting improvements and setbacks while maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Encourage safety, motivation, and functional independence in daily activities, working on both physical capabilities and confidence levels.
• Collaborate with nursing and caregiving staff to ensure integrated care and prioritize patient safety.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on the use of assistive devices and develop effective home exercise programs tailored to individual needs.
• Regularly communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient status and modifications needed in treatment plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with primarily involve seniors and individuals undergoing rehabilitation due to various conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical recovery, or chronic pain management. You will be instrumental in implementing strategies aimed at preventing hospitalizations and sustaining activity levels for residents within their home-like settings.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification is essential for patient care and safety.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective patient engagement.
• A genuine passion for working with seniors in therapeutic settings, emphasizing compassion and patience.
• Capability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
