Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our hospital-affiliated treatment center in Windsor, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans created by Physical Therapists to help patients meet their rehabilitation goals and track their progress.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring that techniques are applied safely and effectively.
• Perform manual therapy techniques and facilitate functional mobility training to aid in patient recovery and improvement.
• Administer various therapeutic modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, to help manage pain and promote healing.
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in compliance with HIPAA regulations, reporting any significant changes to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients and their families on injury prevention strategies and provide detailed guidance on home exercise programs to maximize recovery progress.
• Work collaboratively with physical therapists and other healthcare staff to ensure holistic and coordinated treatment plans for every patient.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, stroke rehabilitation, and chronic pain disorders. Your role as a PTA will significantly impact their recovery journey, offering them the support they need to regain independence and improve their functional abilities through targeted therapy.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey.
• Bachelor's degree in health sciences or a related field (not just an associate degree) from an accredited program.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting is preferred, although new graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
• Solid understanding of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education essentials.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients and work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred for efficient documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a hospital setting, particularly with post-surgical recovery patients.
• Skills in educating patients about self-management techniques and encouraging adherence to therapy plans.
• Familiarity with specialized physical therapy equipment used in advanced rehabilitation techniques.
